The Living Dead

April 11, 2011

The Nordic Warrior Queen makes fun of me because I always close the closet door before going to bed at night. And sometimes she catches me jumping that last two feet to the bed, lest cold hands reach out from underneath and grab my ankles.

She blames my behavior on the books I read – Stephen King, Peter Straub, Richard Matheson to name a few.

But maybe if she’d grown up in a dark and scary basement, living with an older brother who saw nothing wrong with wearing rubber gorilla masks and jumping Jason-like from around the corner as I reached for the light switch, she might have more sympathy with my lingering fear of the undead.

One guy who knows a lot about the undead, and zombies in particular, is horror writer Robert Swartwood http://www.robertswartwood.com. Swartwood has published a number of stories about zombies and other unpleasant subjects, and his latest book titled “The Calling,” was just released on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kindle, and so on (sadly, Robert’s latest book is not about zombie).

Over the past week, Robert and I have been chatting online about his obsession with zombies, as well as his writing success. Check it out tomorrow on the first ever Mr. Ass guest post by Robert Swartwood.

(Nice segue, wasn’t it?)
